Temporary Liquidity Guarantee Program
Farmers Security Bank is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through June 30th 2010, all non-interest bearing transaction accounts,including Farmers Security Bank's NOW accounts earning .50% or less, are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. NOW accounts earning more than .50% are not eligible for the additional Transaction Account Guarantee Program insurance. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and seperate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
After June 30, 2010
Farmers Security Bank has chosen not to participate in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Customers of Farmers Security Bank with noninterest-bearing transaction accounts will continue to be insured through December 31, 2013 for up to $250,000.00 under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
